THE SPACE FOOTAGE.
This video is an accurate representation of what has been available up until this date. When gathering this footage together I was struck by the wide variety of quality and the difference in quality over the years. The footage on Music For Earth Orbit video was compiled from what is available to the general public. 
Even on my HD Plasma TV when I watch space footage on the Nasa Channel or other sources, I notice how much of it varies in quality. In fact, often I wonder ... "in this day and age, why isn't this footage any better quality than this?" There are many reasons I am sure, but for the most part the quality isn't as high as most people would think it should be. To get pristine, highest quality video footage of space, it is necessary to go directly to Nasa and pay to get original footage copied onto different formats. This is expensive and time consuming. This video is what you find on videos, tv shows, and Nasa TV. It is a representation of what you can find in the general public. For that purpose, this Music For Earth Orbit video actually serves a documentary function for archiving and presenting space footage that can be seen by the general public, not footage available to Nasa insiders or documentary television producers. So please enjoy this video for what it is... a full representation of a wide variety of currently available space footage that you might see on television. Realize that this is what people have seen... this is what people saw at the time. The space footage in this video is what we all saw as the space program was developing. It is all that was available, and is the experience of those of us who followed the space program from the beginning. In the future I would like to do a video with only the highest quality, hand picked footage copied direct from the cameras in space.
